Throughout my research I developed digital aspects of the King Street site within Aberdeen and became interested in the three 15-minute cities. The 15-minute city is an idea of a neighbourhood that have all functions needed for living within a 15-minute walk from home.
I was interested in the Seaton 15-minute city, which was the underused site of Roy Strathdee building that could be a perfect site for urban regeneration. Seaton is also one of the most deprived areas in Aberdeen, which had a lot of potential as it had a lot of green space, but not enough public amenities. In my research I identified the problems of the neighbourhood which I wanted to later I proposed design.
My designed aimed to provide vital functions for the Seaton community that it is currently missing. My design hosts a gym, community centre, library and a restaurant with a café. This design would offer space for work, study, leisure and health.
