Grow – Harvest – Cook – Dine

Re-Greening the City Centre: The opportunity to garden and grow food in the city centre is rare, with allotments usually situated outside a city, even though the best benefits of gardens for mental and physical health are well known in a post pandemic world, people are focusing more on local living and are more aware of the benefits of going outside. This project explores a method of local outdoor living focused around city centre allotments growing food on a small commercial scale, creating a new garden community on king street. The site is designed with structural elements running through it, identifying the journey of food through the site, from being grown in the gardens, to being cooked within the food hall and cookery school, to being consumed and being sold on king street
